Insight: Coffee shops are increasingly encouraging us to bring in our reusable cups, yet we often forget them.

Idea: Turn every YETI coffee cup into an essential item.


 

Don’t LEAVE HOME WITHOUT ‘EM

Within 24 hours of Starbucks announcing that they were allowing reusable drinkware at their drive-thrus, my partner and I proactively pitched an eye-catching idea that we believed would reinforce sustainable habits.

After a successful meeting with the media team, our work started showing up on sidewalks across the country.

 

ORGANIC & PAID SOCIAL

We built on the initial success of our OOH by sharing the mantra as an in-feed post on own Instagram. Then, we worked with our performance media team to build out targeted Instagram Stories.

 

AUSTIN FC STADIUM SIGNAGE

Thanks to a great relationship with professional soccer team Austin FC (we’re on their jersey, after all), we created a unique Phone Wallet Keys Cup design that encouraged reusable drinkware use at Q2 Stadium.

Finally, following a fan-bloody-tastic chat with our Aussie co-workers, we learned there was interest in bringing the campaign to the region. Phone Wallet Keys Cup went up in all major Australian cities as well as across New Zealand.

 

LINKEDIN GAVE IT SOME LOVE

There’s nothing like the power of some YETI OOH to get LinkedIn going. While many praised what they believe made the idea so successful, we always knew that its simplicity was its superpower.
